As part of Jabree’s work at Lend Lease’s Yarrabilba development, the team have taken on a unique and very important Caring for Country project.
In recent times the Jabree field team were saddened to find that the largest ground level rock shelter on Yarrabilba’s eastern perimeter had been defaced with obscene graffiti.
In response, Jabree has harnessed the artistic and creative talents of our field team and community in a project that will clean up and restore the shelter in a way that honours culture and country.
Stage one of the restoration project commenced in the final week of November with rubbish removal, a wash down of the rock shelter and removal of spray paint wherever possible.
Where graffiti couldn’t be removed, or has left residual markings, planning has begun to identify other restoration methods.
A staged restoration program will continue through 2017.
Our sincere thanks to all members of the Jabree team who are dedicating time to this important project.
