Stone artefacts found, Mount Tamborine

In May 2012 fieldwork was undertaken at the Tamborine Village Roundabout which is approximately 2.5km southwest of the bora ground at Waldron Road, Tamborine.

While much of the site had been disturbed by road works, 11 stone artefacts were found including silcrete flakes and cores. In one pit a charcoal sample was found at the same level as stone artefacts.  With radio carbon dating, the University of Waikato confirmed a date of site occupation was approximately 1950BC or 3900 years ago.
