Information request: Possible fish trap in Tallebudgera Creek

The Department of Transport & Main Roads has undertaken Community Engagement as part of the Planning Stage for the Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 4 (Burleigh Heads to Coolangatta). The Community Engagement has revealed a lot of interest within the Gold Coast Traditional Owner Community about rock features within Tallebudgera Creek. The Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Database (administered by the Department of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Partnerships) identifies an area within Tallebudgera Creek as a “Possible Fish Trap…that consists of the remains of an oval arrangement of rocks extending 100m in length and 30m across over the tidal reaches of Tallebudgera Creek’s southern bank”. Do you have any information about the possible fish trap in Tallebudgera Creek? If so please make a submission to: info@jabree.com.au.
